GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORY - RECTAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Sani-Supp
USES: This medication is used to treat constipation.
HOW TO USE: Unwrap suppository and miosten with lukewarm water.
Lie down on your left side with the right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with the left knee bent).
Push the suppository into the rectum with your figner.
Do not use more of this medictaion than directed on the package label or by your doctor.
Do not use for longer than 1 week unless directed by your doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Laxatives should only be used temporarliy until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependecne.
SIDE EFFECTS: Skin irritation or bunring around the rectum may occur.
If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: blood in stools, persistent urge to emtpy the bowel, persistent diarrhea.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pahrmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting. This medication should be used only when clearly needed duirng pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not knwon if glycerin is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dcotor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other laxatives. Do not start or stop any medicine without docotr or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison contorl center or emergency room immediately. This meidcine may be harmful if swallowed. If you or somebody you know may have taken this medicine by mouth, contact your local poison contorl center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medicatoin with others.
To prevent constipation drink 4 to 6 glasses of wtaer daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet and exercise regularly.
MISSED DOSE: Generally, this medciation is only used "as needed". Consult your pharamcist for more information.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature bteween 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light and moisture.
